Description
Morphology: Trumpet
Location: Germany
Culture: German
Dates: 1842-1915
Description: Trumpets are used to play the highest range of notes in the brass family and might date back to at least 500 AD(comma) if not earlier. This trumpet was made by the famous Prussian (now Germany) instrument maker Ferdinand Julius Hermann Altrichter (1842-1915). Unlike the majority of modern trumpets(comma) this instrument has rotary valves instead of piston valves that are used to create different notes. It is likely in the pitch of A due to the extra loop in the tuning slide.
